The "Gateway to the Peninsula" is located at the northernmost edge of San Mateo County. Known as the regional hub for retail and healthcare, Daly City is extremely diverse. The Doelger style housing, developed by Henry Doelger, has become a mainstay in the city and became popularized by Malvina Reynolds in the song "Little Boxes".
